The Predator
Predator was designed completely from the ground up to be a fast, powerful, and nimble high-performance scooter with massive 13-inch tires, a combined maximum peak power output of 10,080W from two performance motors, and extreme range.
Every component of the Predator was carefully chosen or engineered with these requirements in mind in order to create an uncompromising flagship vehicle.

Custom Tuned Water Cooled Controllers
The controllers are the heart of each electric scooter. Power delivery and battery management are handled via this important electronic component. This affects not only top end performance but also lower speed handling, ride quality and feel.
The Predator features high performance custom tuned controllers that were designed ground-up by an engineering team to handle both the weight and the 13-inch wheel design. The massive wheels of the Predator require much higher torque to achieve the performance levels expected from this beast. A significant amount of research, development, testing, and tuning was invested in order to create a controller that could deliver the necessary performance reliably.
Heat Management (Electronically Controlled Water-Cooling System)
All the circuitry and electronics needed to control and deliver this massive amount of power generates a significant amount of heat. This will in turn affect power delivery at maximum performance over extended durations. To further increase reliability and tweak the maximum performance possible from the Predator, a first of its kind electronically controlled water-cooling system was designed and built into the controller system.
Heat is drawn away from the controllers via a water-cooled line. A temperature sensor activates a pump which cycles the (low electrically conductive) liquid from heat generated by the controllers to the side fins on the deck of the Predator. The side fins on the Predator were designed not only for aesthetics but also to act as heat sinks for the incredibly efficient controller cooling system.

Battery Technology
The YUME Predator takes a whole new approach to battery implementation. Instead of following the current industry standard of using 21700 Li-Ion battery packs, the Predator incorporates a Panasonic™ battery unit made from 3.6V 50Ah EV cells. The battery design takes a different approach to deliver 72V 50Ah of total power. The current industry standard is to use 200 pieces of 21,700 type 3.6V 5Ah cells. With the YUME Predator however, 20 units of individual 3.6V 50Ah cells are combined to create our power supply. Our custom designed and tuned controllers ensure the Predator can handle the high discharge rates this new battery supplies.
The Panasonic cells in the Predator are used primarily within the electric car industry and are incredibly reliable. The battery technology represents a much-improved safety design and the lower lithium content reduces the risks of fire hazards significantly.
One of the most significant differences when using this EV battery technology is longevity. Our custom built and supplied Panasonic battery packs are not only safer, but battery life is also at least 4 times that of high performance 18650 or 21700 battery packs due to the low lithium consumption technology. With an average of 2000 recharge cycles (vs 500 cycles for 21700 battery packs), the power source of the new YUME Predator will outlast any (current) scooter on the market by 4 times, further protecting the long-term investment in your performance electric vehicle.

The Predator was created as a large high powered 13-inch electric scooter that STILL offers the excitement and experience of riding a mid-sized performance scooter. While both large in terms of dimensions, power and wheel size, our engineers still wanted the ride quality to feel nimble and controllable. This meant using a C-shaped suspension and engineering the frame to handle the supersized proportions.

Triple Hydraulic ( Rebound Adjustable ) Shock Absorbers
Three high performance adjustable rebound hydraulic shock absorbers are used to give the Predator an incredibly smooth ride over any terrain. The rear suspension employs 2 shocks of 1200lb coil weight and the front uses a single 2000lb shock absorber. Ride quality can be fine tuned via an adjustment knob on each shock absorber to control rebound characteristics.

Custom Designed Quad-Piston Hydraulic Brakes
The stopping power and braking characteristics of the Predator were also given careful consideration. To achieve the braking performance needed, quad piston hydraulic brakes were custom designed by the YUME team. The brakes offer unparalleled stopping power for a vehicle of this mass, ensuring both safety and reliability. An extra-large reservoir tank ensures enough brake fluid stays within the line. Even the hydraulic cable connectors are designed to match the bulk of the Predator and ensure reliable function and performance.
